Birthday Celebration Pics

Nagarjuna, son of veteran actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, made his debut appearance in films with 'Vikram', a remake of Bollywood blockbuster 'Hero'. Born on August 29, 1959, he completed his degree in the US. He became popular by playing a tragedy hero in 'Majnu'. Later, he gained a mass hero status with 'Siva' directed by Ramgopal Varma, which gave both the hero and the director a good break. He married Amala, who paired with him in 'Siva'. Nagarjuna also made his debut in Bollywood with the Hindi version of 'Siva' and became popular all over India.

Sridevi, who played opposite his father Nageswara Rao in several films, paired up with Nagarjuna in 'Aakhari Poratam', which is a 100 days film. 'Geetanjali' directed by Maniratnam is yet another memorable film in Nagarjuna's career, and is a big musical hit. Krishnavamsi's 'Ninne Pelladutha' is yet another big hit. Not only as a commercial films' hero, Nagarjuna proved himself in devotional films as well. Directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, his film 'Annamayya' enthralled the Telugu audiences. This film also ran for 100 days in 42 centres.

Nagarjuna also carved a niche as a producer by launching a banner 'Great IndiaEntertainments'. The first film made on the banner 'Sisindri' featured his son Akhil in the lead role, which is based on a popular Hollywood flick 'Baby's day out'. He had also promoted his nephew Sumanth on his banner with Yuvakudu. Nagarjuna had to his credit for working with several directors in their debut ventures. Ramgopal Varma, YVS Choudary, Dasaradh, Geeta Krishna, Uppalapati Narayana Rao and Lawrence are to name a few.

After a long gap, again Nagarjuna portrayed the role of 'Sriramadasu' and enthralled not only normal people, but several religious heads who praised Nagarjuna in particular and the film in general. Nagarjuna's latest film 'Boss' directed by VN Aditya is almost ready to for release,.

We wish Nagarjuna and his forthcoming film Boss a grand success.
